Psychological Perspectives in Painting and Drawing

When artists uses  lines to establish structure but then selectively employs paint and colour in selected areas deemed by the artist to be most important. We look at these areas more because we can sense that the artist has spent more of their time working there, hence psychological perspective. When applied to a portrait it forces us to look and focus at the area of most importance.
